Overview
Laidlaw was approached by Cheshire College to refurbish their access control system over two sites (Ellesmere Port & Handbridge) to provide further security for staff, students and possessions. Laidlaw specified a card activated access control system including 259 doors throughout the communal areas and classrooms.
The Solution
Laidlaw specified, installed and commissioned the entire access control project, installing a Salto system of 195 offline doors along with 64 online doors requiring magnetic locks, door readers, break glass and exit buttons.
The on-site team were provided training to set up the hierarchy of cards to ensure security throughout the building. Cards are issued each year to students by the central IT department where card access can be easily deleted from the system within seconds should any issues arise.
